Ale ta tapicerka to raczej nie skorka..wikipedia dobrze tlumaczy Alcantara – tkanina używana w produkcji odzieży, mebli oraz w najdroższych wersjach wyposażeniowych samochodów osobowych, głównie sportowych. Charakteryzuje się miękkością, odpornością na ścieranie, wysoką żywotnością, łatwością utrzymania oraz wysoką przyczepnością. Alcantarę produkuje się z bardzo drobnych, w specjalny sposób splecionych mikrowłókien poliesteru i poliuretanu. Mikrowłókna te są nawet kilka razy drobniejsze od włosa ludzkiego. Poliester nadaje tkaninie wytrzymałość, a poliuretan miękkość. Materiał został stworzony przez japońskiego naukowca Miyoshi Okamoto pracującego dla firmy Toray około 1971 roku. W roku 1972 włoska firma ENI wraz z japońskim Toray założyły holding Alcantara SpA mający zajmować się produkcją i dystrybucją nowego materiału. |
